Course overview
In this short course, you will discover how to build your own streets and public spaces using Sketchup and Google Earth. Since these are free internet resources, all you need is a modern web browser. Via these tools you will be able to visualise a street intervention and export it in a nice style.
This first lesson in the series is designed for urbanists who have never used Sketchup before.
We will walk you through each step and explain everything in detail. Then it will be your turn to play!
What you will learn:
- Basic skills in SketchUp for Web, including drawing, modeling, working with elements, and exporting work.
- A fundamental understanding of Google Earth.
- How to visualize urban environments at street level.
- Ability to visualize tactical interventions such as bike lanes and parklets.
