Feeding the Future: Tech Solutions for Food Security and Safety is an online course that explores how we can use emerging technologies to create safer, more resilient and more sustainable food systems. You will examine how the circular economy connects to food safety and food security, and learn to apply the FAO’s four pillars of food security to real-world contexts.  

What you will learn: 

• How the circular economy applies to food systems, and how food safety and food security interact across the FAO’s four pillars. 
• How deep technologies (e.g., blockchain, AI and smart sensors) are currently used to improve food safety and food security. 
• How to search, organise and interpret data using digital tools to better understand risks and systemic food challenges. 
• How to evaluate existing tech solutions, ideate meaningful improvements and apply the principle “think globally, act locally” to food-system innovation.
