Course overview

This advanced programme builds on the foundations of Adaptive Leadership for Complexity through three self-paced modules focused on sense-making, personal responses to uncertainty, and causation in complex systems. Participants will strengthen their judgement, recognise their own assumptions and behavioural patterns, and learn to influence the conditions that shape outcomes rather than relying on predictable cause-and-effect relationships.

What you will learn:

  • Theories and practices of sense-making in complex and uncertain situations.
  • Distinctions between sense-making and analysis, including techniques for recognising blind spots.
  • Self-awareness of personal reactions, assumptions, and behaviours under uncertainty.
  • Principles of causation and cause-and-effect relationships in complex systems.
  • Approaches to influencing system conditions and taking effective action when outcomes are unpredictable.
