Course overview

This course is shaped as a learning path aimed at familiarizing learners with the most popular Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming languages as defined in the international standard IEC61131-3. Participants will gain insights into various systems available on the market, including TwinCAT, CODE SYS, and IDEC. The program covers the principles of PLC operation, programming, and commissioning, as well as the classification and declaration of basic data types.

What you will learn:

  • How to describe and differentiate between the most popular PLC programming languages, such as TwinCAT, CODE SYS, and IDEC, according to the IEC61131-3 standard.
  • PLC operation, programming principles, and commissioning processes.
  • How to classify and declare basic data types used in PLC programming.
  • Program structure, subprogram calls, and variable visibility ranges.
  • The Master Basic Instructions, including operators, arithmetic, logic, and conversions, as well as Advanced Instructions like timers, flip-flops, counters, and triggers.
